He was an art dealer and amateur painter, who can be counted amongst the most influential and active members in the development of a market for modern painting. He held a place on the edge between dealing and collecting, developing modern art as an area worthy of investment. In the 1920's he held several sales at Drouot, including the sale of his own collection in 1924.…
