Anche questa è un'opera che segue l'accademismo giuridico italiano del secondo Cinquecento, particolarmente vivace sul tema della contrattistica commerciale(terrestre e navale) e sulle transazioni economiche. Non si conoscono i dati biografici dell'autore, la sua famiglia (di origine napoletana come attestato da bibliografi ottecenteschi come Tafuri e Minieri-Riccio) era tra le più in vista a Macerata e ad essa è dedicata la locale biblioteca civica. A significant and influential civil law treatis by Pietro Niccolo Mozzi; the title page states that Mozzi was from Macerata (descended from a Neopolitan family) . After an introduction devoted to contracts in general, the author divides his treatis into 12 books on the various sorts of contracts. The final book is a detailed treatment dealing with marriage contracts [De nuptiis, id est, sponsalibus, et matrimoniis]. The author also published a Tractatus de Feudis in 1590.
