Paperback. Zustand: Near Fine. James Q. Reber (Photography (illustrator). First Edition. NOT LOOSE LEAF. Text/BRAND NEW & Bright. Softcover/VG w/trace creasings to upper front corner, and edge/surface rubs. . PO name to front cover verso. Photographic essay of the Harpers Ferry Nat'l Historical Park of some 4,000 acres in West Virginia. Site of 19th century of John Brown's failed abolitionist uprising. In 1747, Robert Harper (1718 -- 1782) was engaged by Quakers to build a meeting house in the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester, VA, by the "Hole" (conjuction of the Potomac & Shenandoah rivers). Soon after in 1751 Harper acquired 125 acres to build a home for himself. 12 years later in 1763, the State of Virginia established the town of "Shenandoah Falls at Mr. Harper's Ferry." The house was completed in 1782, the same year Harper died, and where he is buried --- a little cemetery by two rivers speaks volumes. 90 pgs.
