Orig. published in 1905, this is an unknown printing of that FIRST EDITION, a small 8vo w…ith blue cloth-covered boards illustrated & lettered in black to front & spine. Orig. $1.50 price stamped to lower front board. Condition is Fair. Contemporary vintage ads precede the Index in front, then 286 pages with turn-of-the-century illustrations throughout, + 22 blank pages for additional recipes in rear. Similar blank pages in front have recipes written in pencil on them (seem to have been repositioned from their original place in rear & binding looks to have been reglued). Both hinges are cracked & some early pages have come loose from stitched binding; rest of text block is secure & straight, Pages creamy white & moderately tanned: unmarked save for the occasional spot or smudge. Exterior shows the expected soil & rubbing of a well-loved cookbook of the early 1900s, with fraying & slight loss at corners & spine tips.
