Wear to crown and foot of spine and corners. Library numbers written in white on the top corner of the front cover. Binding good and tight. Inside front cover has large bookplate from… the National Military Park in Fredericksburg, VA (Conway's home town), stamped 'withdrawn' at the side. A small label below the bookplate says 'By Exchange from New York Public Library, 1941." Ownership name on first blank page, "E. N. Partridge 1862." There is a waterstain on that page, as well. Title page dated 1862. Stated second edition. Conway's name is not printed on the title page, but a librarian has written in in pencil below the printed 'Native of Virginia.' 131 pages. Another large water stain on rear endpaper, but nothing on the text pages themselves. Overall a good copy, with the added interest of being from Fredericksburg, VA, where Conway's house still stands.
