Illustrated with 16 plates, including a b/w photographic frontispieve plate as called for. There is sunning to the spine and light fading to the boards across the head and adjacent to the spine strip. Scattered soiling to the board…s. There is rubbing to the head and tail of the spine with a little loss of the cloth and light bumps to all corners with associated light rubbing. Neat ink inscription to the front end paper reading 'Theodore Podger, H. M. S. "Cornwall", Chatham, 9 Sept 1937'. There is some splitting to the rear inner hinge leaving the rear board a little tender. Small stain to the margin of pp4 and pp 5. Some scattered light foxing to the end papers, fore edges and title page and some scattered finger soiling. Complete. A fair copy of this scarce book.
