Couverture rigide. ENGLISH : A unique copy, reprinted in large in-8° format (the standard edition is in small in-12° format), printed especially for the collector Paul Bellon, including all of the original drawings used for this edition and a three-part insert of the engravings: pure etching state; pre-letter state; final state. It also includes an autograph letter signed by the author and an autograph letter signed by the illustrator. Superb full morocco binding lined with Jansenist blue, signed by Joly, spine with five raised bands where the author, title, city, and date are stamped in gold, a double gold fillet running along the edges, endpapers lined with lemon-colored morocco and adorned with a gold geometric Art Deco-style decoration, executed in a multi-line gold fillet consisting of about ten parallel lines creating a linear gradient effect characteristic of the decorative movement of the 1920s and 1930s. The border consists of multiple straight lines running along the edges, forming a right-angled frame. In the center unfolds a skillfully articulated composition of broken lines: two pointed chevron-shaped motifs, one at the top and the other at the bottom, whose branches intersect in an X shape halfway up and halfway along their length, creating an interplay of angular interlacing. Between these two chevrons lies a large central four-lobed motif with sinuous, multi-lobed contours—a sort of medallion shaped like a clover or a stylized flower with four rounded lobes, whose supple lines contrast with the geometric rigidity of the broken lines framing it. This ornamentation, with its geometric precision combined with stylized plant motifs, is typical of the Art Deco bookbinding aesthetic of the first third of the 20th century. Exceptional copy in Joly-lined morocco. Oreste Cortazzo ; Eugène Abot ; Aleix Clapés (illustrator). Dédicacé par l'auteur.…
