The work also includes sections on the old Syrian Church, the Yazidis of Mosul, and a translation of an Arabic manuscript, with a preface by Brooke Foss Westcott, Bishop of Durham. Oswald H. Parry was a Magdalen College, Oxford, graduate whose travels in Mesopotamia produced this unusually detailed account of the Syrian Church and its monasteries.
