On 18 October 1851 the Duke married as his third wife his first cousin Jane Francis Clinton Stewart (1818-1897), daughter of the Honourable Edward Richard Stewart and granddaughter of John Stewart, 7th Earl of Galloway. The recipient would appear to a near-relation of the Duchess, as her address is the town-house of the Duchess's mother, Lady Katherine Stewart (d.1863), at 9 Bryanston Square, who is referred to at the start of the letter. 2pp., 12mo.
