iv, 140pp, 36pp, lxxxiv plates, vi further plates. 28x22, marbled boards, gilt lettered leather spine. Rubbed and marked, front board detached, substantial piece of the spine missing, rear hinge cracked, contents intact and tight, some foxing, bottom edges damp marked. Like previous Kelly editions, this took the original two volumes and printed them together (it is difficult to perceive what Tredgold's revisions might amount to), with seperate paginations. Would make a nice restoration project.

xxxvi, 140pp, 36pp, 32pp (The Practical Builders Price Book), 107 plates (109 called for) 29x23, marbled boards, half bound in leather. Boards and spine worn and rubbed, remains of tape repairs on front board and title page, re-bound, browning to most plates; 109 plates called for, 107 present. A later Kelly edition of Nicholson's classic work, with additional plates added (the comparison in quality with Nicholson's originals is striking), and a copy of The Practical Builder's Price Book bound in. The binding instructions list 109 plates, but only 107 are present - whether this is because they are missing or because the instructions were wrong isn't clear.

viii, 140pp, 36pp (vol I) lxxxiv plates, vi further plates (Vol II) 28x22, marbled boards, half bound in leather, glt lettering. Small piece of spine missing on vol I, small label on front of each volume, owner's hand-written label (DS Morrison of Scarfskerry), some pages creased, generally good copy of a working book. This version of Nicholson's classic work included options for binding the plates either at the end or separately, or after specific pages of text - in this case the former approach has been taken. The three books of Nicholson's original are all included in the first volume, with books I and II paginated consecutively and book III separately.
