Binding is square and tight, boards show very little signs of wear. There is staining on both paste-downs in consistent patterns that suggest glue transfer stain. No other stains in book. Text block is clean, bright and free for markings. It does have a musty aroma. DJ Good, Unclipped, chipping and small small tears at top edge, and apparent water stain the length of the inside of the dj spine, but no parallel stain on book itself. pp 256 According to Northwestern University's Website Shacter was among the first two women to be granted PhD s in psychology by Northwestern; this occurred in 1932. From the jacket: Dr. Helen Shatter is eminently qualified to help others solve life problems, improve personality adjustment and understand human behavior. She has an unusual backgroundthe wife of a Chicago surgeon, she is a mother, a psychology professor, a practicing psychologist, and an author and lecturer. Shacter taught at Northwestern and also held psychology degrees from Columbia.
