MISSALE ROMANUM Pustet, Ratisbonae, 1939 A Fine Pre-War Edition in Exceptional Preservation An exceptionally rare and remarkably well-preserved Missale Romanum printed by the renowned Pustet press of Ratisbonae in 1939, issued during the pontificate of Pope Pius XI and preceding the upheavals of the Second World War. Bound in genuine leather and fitted with elegant silver clasps, the volume possesses the refined craftsmanship associated with the finest Continental liturgical bindings of the period. The book remains in near-pristine condition ? an extraordinary state of preservation for a devotional work of this age and rarity. Notably free from inscriptions, ownership marks, or personal dedications, allowing the volume to retain its remarkable purity and presentation. The text block is beautifully preserved, with the volume displaying scarcely any signs of use. A surviving example of uncommon quality, preserved through the war years with exceptional care. Examples of this calibre are seldom encountered and virtually impossible to source in comparable condition. A distinguished acquisition for collectors of traditional Roman Catholic liturgy, fine religious bindings, or rare ecclesiastical printing. An increasingly elusive pre-war Missale Romanum, equally suited to a serious collection, private chapel, or presentation gift of exceptional character. Only one example currently known on the market. Photographs available upon request.

Soft cover. Zustand: Fine. BREVIARIUM ROMANUM - Pars Aestiva (Officia Ruraemundensis), 1957 Impossible to Find - Exceptionally Rare Diocesan Roman Breviary with Gilt Edges An exceptionally scarce and highly desirable copy of the Breviarium Romanum, Pars Aestiva (Summer Part), printed in 1957 by H. Dessain, Mechliniae (Malines/Mechelen). This edition follows the Roman Breviary restored by Pope Pius V in accordance with the decrees of the Council of Trent, subsequently revised by later pontiffs and reformed under the authority of Pope Pius X, with revisions associated with Pope Benedict XV. Of particular importance is the inclusion of the Officia Ruraemundensis, containing the proper offices of the Diocese of Roermond. Such diocesan variants were produced in relatively small numbers and are seldom encountered today, especially in this state of preservation. The volume retains its attractive gilt page edges, enhancing both its visual appeal and collectible value. Compact and intended for daily liturgical use, it remains remarkably well preserved. Condition Fine condition throughout. Binding firm and sound, pages clean and fresh, gilt edges bright and well preserved. Minor signs of handling consistent with age, but overall an exceptionally well-maintained example. Bibliographic Details Title: Breviarium Romanum ex Decreto Sacrosancti Concilii Tridentini Restitutum S. Pii V Pontificis Maximi Jussu Editum Aliorumque Pontificum Cura Recognitum Pii Papae X Auctoritate Reformatum - Pars Aestiva Special Content: Officia Ruraemundensis Publisher: H. Dessain, Mechliniae (Malines/Mechelen) Year: 1957 Dimensions: 10.5 × 16 × 2.5 cm Weight: 317 g Gilt edges Condition: Fine A genuinely rare survivor of the pre-Vatican II liturgical tradition, sought after by collectors of Roman Catholic liturgy, ecclesiastical printing, breviaries, and regional diocesan editions. Examples with gilt edges and in such fine condition are rarely offered for sale.

Autumnalis, Aestiva, Verna, Hiemalis. No names written. Exceptional piece. Will never be available on the market. Red on cut. Extremely rare breviary of the Benedictines, entirely bound in a black full leather binding and with red on cuts. Title and part name in gold print. PIUS X AND BENEDICT XV. Breviarium Monasticum Pauli V jussu editum, Urbani VIII et Leonis XIII cura recognitum, Pii X et Benedicti XV auctoritate reformatum pro omnibus sub regula S. Patris Benedicti militantibus. Mechlin (Mechlinae): H. Dessain, 1933. Complete set of four volumes comprising Pars Autumnalis, Pars Aestiva, Pars Verna, and Pars Hiemalis. Latin text throughout. Bound uniformly in contemporary black full leather, covers and spines lettered in gilt, all edges stained red. A remarkably well-preserved and complete monastic breviary issued for Benedictine communities following the liturgical reforms of Popes Pius X and Benedict XV. An imposing and increasingly elusive survival, preserving the complete annual cycle of the Divine Office as used throughout the Benedictine Confederation. Produced by the distinguished ecclesiastical publisher H. Dessain of Mechelen, the work reflects the continuing evolution of Benedictine liturgical practice in the decades preceding the sweeping reforms of the mid-twentieth century. The present set is notable for its uniform state of preservation, with no ownership inscriptions or institutional markings recorded, a feature seldom encountered in monastic service books intended for daily devotional use. The handsome full-leather bindings, gilt titling, and red-stained edges lend the set an impressive visual presence while underscoring its original function as a durable liturgical companion. Complete sets of the 1933 Breviarium Monasticum are exceptionally scarce in commerce. Owing to their intensive use within religious houses, many surviving examples are incomplete, worn, or dispersed. A complete four-volume set in matching bindings, retaining all seasonal parts and free from ownership markings, represents a rare opportunity for collectors of liturgical books, Benedictine history, and twentieth-century ecclesiastical printing. A rare and desirable survival of Benedictine liturgical heritage.
