Hardcover. Zustand: Good. First British Edition. A series of 71 imaginary colloquies, that appeared in Blackwood's Magazine from 1822 to 1835. Blackwood released Wilson's works in a series between 1855 and 1858, each volume with a uniform binding that were consecutively numbered with roman numerals. According to the advertising information contained in this book, this 4 volume set was the first part of "Blackwood's Prof. Wilson Series," and is complete in itself. Original blindstamped cloth, spine extremities frayed with tearing, chipping, etc. The spine of Volume 4 is split at one side and in the middle--this set is a candidate for rebacking. Spines & some joints, with some cover rubbing, contents are clean. Books are tight. This appears to be the first British publication of his collected works. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
