One sheet folded to make 4 pp. A program for the social justice Community Church of Boston, which at the time was presided over by the Rev. Donald G. Lothrop. The address for Sun., Nov. 3, was from white civil rights activist and novelist, Truman Nelson, and was titled, "Man and Cuba Man: Does the Revolutionary Process Transform the Human Condition?" Future addresses included those by Scott Nearing, John Ciardi, Dr. Kirtley F. Mather and Ruth Gage Colby. One of the church's founding members, Gertrude L. Winslow, was involved in opposing the execution of Sacco and Vanzetti and nearly four decades later the church remained interested in that historical injustice offering a forum supper titled "The Renascence of Sacco and Vanzetti." In 1968 the church became affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. A nice cross section of Boston history, the radical church tradition, and Sacco and Vanzetti. This copy from the library of Tom O'Connor, Secretary of the Committee for Vindication of Sacco and Vanzetti. One vertical crease from folding, 'duplicate' penciled to the top.

Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First Edition. 8vo. Pp. 20. Printed wraps. Toning to cover commensurate with age, with slight chips and a modicum of loss at the upper spine. Very Good. "Published by Request." While published sermons by Lothrop are readily available, this homage to Daniel Webster remains elusive, at best. Scarce.
