A very interesting historical volume. Illustrated with a coloured folding map to the frontispiece. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine and the extremities; a minor cockling to the cloth of the rear board. The cloth to the spine has slightly darkened. With a small bookseller sticker to the front pastedown, and an ex libris stamp to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with only a minor odd spot to the very occasional leaf. Illustrated with a colour folding map as frontispiece. Very Good. None (illustrator). book.

She was introduced to the diarist Francis Kilvert in 1871, and we are told that she was then 35 and the grand-daughter of George Stothert, the manager of the famous Bath engineering firm Stothert and Pitt.
