Arnold Luschin war der Begründer der österreichischen Rechtsgeschichte als akademischer Disziplin und ein bahnbrechender numismatischer Forscher. Er veröffentlichte u. a. eine Österreichische Reichsgeschichte" (1895/96), einen Grundriß der österreichischen Rechtsgeschichte" (1899) und eine Allgemeine Münzkunde und Geldgeschichte des Mittelalters und der neueren Zeit" (1904).
