Obwohl sich Politik auch im Internet-Zeitalter vielfach noch analog abspielt, sind bereits vergleichsweise realistische Konzepte zur Einführung elektronischer Wahlen ("e-Voting") in verschiedenen Pilotprojekten mehr oder weniger erfolgreich den Praxisbedingungen ausgesetzt worden und haben erste technische Erfahrungen gebracht. Ob elektronische Wahlen rechtlich - also vor allem verfassungsrechtlich - überhaupt zulässig sind, ist jedoch nicht hinreichend geklärt. Der Autor untersucht daher die Frage, inwieweit die Einführung elektronischer Wahlen in ihren verschiedenen Varianten in der Bundesrepublik auf verfassungsrechtliche Hindernisse stà Ãt, die vor allem aus den Wahlrechtsgrundsätzen des Art. 38 Abs. 1 GG und ihrer gängigen Interpretation resultieren.
