Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Norman Rockwell (illustrator). This is a mint-condition copy of Poor Richard: The Almanacks for the Years 1733-1756, published by the Heritage Press in 1964. The almanacs were published annually by Benjamin Franklin, who used the names 'Poor Richard' and 'Richard Saunders'. They were a mixture of seasonal weather forecasts, practical household hints, puzzles, poems and other amusements and they sold as many as 10,000 a year. This is the complete set, bound in an impressed tan cover--it could be leather. It's a big book: 8" x 12" and 300 pages. It comes in a brown slipcase. It includes an introduction by the American critic Van Wyck Brooks, and is fully illustrated by Norman Rockwell. The slipcase has some fading. The original owner of this book, a Canadian diplomat, signed the front endpaper. Other than that, there is not a mark in it or on it. It has clearly not been read and is in mint condition.
