Popular and prolific composer/lyricist of stage musicals such as "Wish You Were Here" (1952), "Fanny" (1954) and "I Can Get It for You Wholesale" (1962, with Barbra Streisand in her Broadway debut); the films "Rear Window" and "Anchors Aweigh," among others, feature some of his songs. ALS, 1p, 8½" X 11", n.p., n.d. Addressed to Mr. Bean. Near fine. Light original mailing folds. Writing to an educator and his pupils, Rome remarks cordially: "I save all my words of wisdom for my song, so I'm enclosing under separate cover two songs full of words of wisdom." Bold and attractive, penned in medium black fineline.
