Contains 283 printed pages of text. Superficial wear to the covers, ink message dated 1976 to the front free end paper. Near Fine condition book in near Fine condition dust wrapper with a few surface stains to the rear panel, not price clipped. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. Original Cloth. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good. Gough, Philip (illustrator). First Edition. The boards have fading along the edges and to the spine with quite heavy fading along the top edge of the rear panel. The page edges have some browning with light spotting to the fore edges. Small booksellers' label at the bottom right corner of the front pastedown. The pages are slightly browned and there is a little smudging to the title and facing page but they pages are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has a quarter inch piece missing at the top of the spine and a one inch long V shaped piece missing from the top edge of the rear panel. The front panel has a one inch closed tear at the top left corner with some associated creasing. The rear panel has a little surface tearing at the bottom left corner. There is a little chipping to the corners and some small nicks and creasing along the edges. Jacket illustration by Philip Gough. First printing.
