This listing is for a very rare, luxury first edition of The Holy Qur'an "MUSHAFE RAYHAN" published in 2003 by the master calligrapher and artist, Bahram Saleki with introductions by Seyyed Hussein Nasr and Baha al-Din Khurramshahi. Rayhan or narrow Mohaqiq is the name of a style of calligraphy in Arabic script. Rayhan is derived from Muhaqiq and is a delicate and small-sized script that has all the characteristics of Mohaqiq, but is more delicate, and for this reason it has been likened to flowers, leaves, and basil (Rayhan). This script was invented for ease of writing and they wanted to use a summarized Mohaqiq style and method. It is a hard, long and regular script that is used mainly in the Quran and Ibn Bawab is the creator of Rayhan script. In addition to the unique calligraphy, this fine and rare edition contains lots of different colorful and masterly designed illuminations.
