Ralston (1857-1925) was the 28th Governor of Indiana, serving from 1913 to 1917. Ralston, a member of the Democratic Party, was elected governor after a successful campaign that focused on progressive reforms, including improvements in labor laws, education, and infrastructure. During his tenure, he advocated for the establishment of the Indiana State Highway Commission and supported women's suffrage. After serving as governor, he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1922, where he served until his death on October 14, 1925.
