The jacket has a 4" tear up towards the middle of the front panel from the bottom right edge partially effecting the photograph of the red rose. Two additional tears at the bottom edge of the front panel about 1" with creasing between the tears. Background of the spine of the jacket has faded from red to orange from light. Crinkling and 1-1/2" tear at the head of the spine of the jacket. Top and bottom of jacket flap is clipped but a price, $4.75, remains intact at the bottom corner. Aside from the mentioned faults there are several good aspects of the jacket. No chips are missing. No rubbing. No foxing or odor. And the last price remains. A nice copy of a classic book that is hard to find. Jacket in mylar protector. Laid in is a typed letter signed Mildred L. Bancroft to the same owner as embossed on the first two pages dated June 24, 1954 regarding the identification of a particular rose. An intersting addition to this book.
