Light brown cloth minimally decorated with black lettering to front board and spine; light soiling and sunning/fading to cloth; bumping to boards' top fore-edge corners. Foxing to text block edges. Two ink signatures presumably of past owners at top of front free endpaper; some foxing to several initial and rear leaves but interior pages overall remain clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy. Classic review of notable structures in South Carolina's coastal lowcountry region, the first edition of which was published in 1938. Features b/w photographic plates by Charles Richard Banks, Ben Judah Lubschez (1881-1963), and the remarkable Frances Benjamin Johnston (1864-1952) whose magnificent images complete similar architectural monographs regarding North Carolina and Tidewater Virginia.
