Hardcover. Dark blue cloth embossed with black and gilt. The Society For Promoting Christian Knowledge is the oldest Anglican mission organization. It was established by Rev. Dr. Thomas Bray in1698 and apart from Oxford and Cambridge is the oldest publishing house and organization in England. From the 1830's it embarked on the publication and distribution of general religious histories of the Anglican church and this The Diocesan History of Worcester is one of them. Condition: Very Good. The boards are clean, the corners only a very little bumped, the top and bottom of the spine showing onlya little wear. The text block is tight and clean but for a little foxing throughout, particularly at the edges of the pages. The fold out map, 'The Annals of Worcester, that faces the title page is present and intact. The front end paper is a little cracked. It has the previous owners name written on it; also 'Xmas 1883'. In the corner there is a book sellers sticker. The rear end paper is also cracked but to a lesser degree.
