Spiral. Zustand: Very Good. This is the 11th printing (January 1969) last revised in the 1963 Osborn edition and originally published in 1959. Some of the graphics (lithography by Mike Roberts Studio), food styling and illustrations (cover design by Christy Woodruff Wold and Elmer Moss) and distribution (Argonaut House) had migrated from Nevada City to San Francisco because at this point Mabee's storefront "The Country Kitchen" was located at 3150 Fillmore Street. Red plastic comb octavo spiral bound, glossy gatefold covers, illustrations, 48 pages + index is in almost new condition. There is a price sticker on front cover and a newsprint shadow on half title page from a clipping entitled "Klondike Sourdough" laid in from a Sacramento area newspaper. Please no offers on this item, price is firm and will only go up. If you don't get why this book is so valuable or the relevance of Sourdough Jack to modern western culinary americana then just mosey on over to the next title in the catalog, no one is putting a gun to your head to buy this book from me. I am not a sourdough fanatic (though there are plenty out there) but as a bookseller and a curmudgeon I can say that any modern book that has 170k copies printed and only a handful available for purchase is worthy of respect especially a copy in such fine condition as this one.
