Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Small 8vo cloth. 92pp. Illustrated with photos & one cartoon. Dated in 1937 & signed by Stansbery. Also the signature of Dal Walker, but it appears to be in Stansbery's hand. Likely a presentation. An account of ranching in the Tulsa area, especially the 3D ranch 35 miles NE of Tulsa, & W. E. Halsell's Mashed-O. Information on Texas cattleman, Shanghai Pierce, & some Oklahoma outlaws, the Daltons, Doolin, Jennings, Cook Gang, Cherokee Bill. "The writer came to Oklahoma in 1889 and also tells many humorous happenings in and around Tulsa during the early days." Desirable book & quite scarce in the 1st edition. Curiously, this title appears to have been published without a title page. The t-p in the reprint is only that of the reprint publisher, & other 1st editions I've looked at did not have a title page. This copy with the color of the cloth covers faded with exposure. Black printing of the titles & cover pictures (both front & back) are strong. Light wear otherwise. Good, tight copy. 6-guns 2125, Herd 2146. (ca 1930). Signed by Author(s).

Describes ranching in northeast Oklahoma from the opening of the Territory until the 1920's, including material on Oklahoma outlaws. One of the rarest of ranching histories, as all were ruined by oil, according to the author. Howes mistakenly lists this book under "Stanbery." HOWES S871, "aa." ADAMS HERD 2146. ADAMS SIX-GUNS 2125. Original pictorial cloth. Front hinge shaken, but not cracked. Lower corners somewhat worn. Else just about very good. Ownership inscription dated 1930 on front pastedown.
