Also the signature of Dal Walker, but it appears to be in Stansbery's hand. Likely a presentation. An account of ranching in the Tulsa area, especially the 3D ranch 35 miles NE of Tulsa, & W. E. Halsell's Mashed-O. Information on Texas cattleman, Shanghai Pierce, & some Oklahoma outlaws, the Daltons, Doolin, Jennings, Cook Gang, Cherokee Bill. "The writer came to Oklahoma in 1889 and also tells many humorous happenings in and around Tulsa during the early days." Desirable book & quite scarce in the 1st edition. Curiously, this title appears to have been published without a title page. The t-p in the reprint is only that of the reprint publisher, & other 1st editions I've looked at did not have a title page. This copy with the color of the cloth covers faded with exposure. Black printing of the titles & cover pictures (both front & back) are strong. Light wear otherwise. Text says that A. W. Hoots paid three cents an acre to the Osage Nation to lease 60,000 acres known as the 3D Ranch, 35 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Minor wear to spine ends and corners else a very good copy in pictorial cloth.
