Cloth is worn along the edges and splitting along the front hinge, top and bottom of spine area shows chipping and corners are rounded. The internal binding of the text pages is good but there are hinge cracks present at both the front and rear boards. Pages are toned due to age and spotting/foxing is present. No signatures or bookplates found, no library markings, no handwriting other than remnants of a price penciled in the front end page, upper corner. End pages also show chipping and we did find two pages with the corners folded over. This book contains two title pages with the first one containing 587 pages, second title page contains an additional 103 pages. The rear the book also contains 44 pages of publisher advertisements, some of which is in German and some in English. No publication date listed on either title page (ca. 1889 based on ads in rear of book). Decorated end pages and front and rear are free of any handwriting or bookplates, no library markings etc. The front hinge has a crack starting where the overlapped paper is lifting, but the rear hinge is okay. Several sections of the cloth pages show pulling but everything is still attached.
