In the early 1930s Walter Starkie, Professor of Spanish at Dublin University, spent a summer in northern Spain as a wandering minstrel, living off the proceeds of his fiddle music. These accolades hold true today. First published November 1934 and reprinted that month, this "cheap edition" 1936. 488 pages including bibliography, notes, glossary, index. b/w frontis/title page decoration by Arthur Rackham, folded route map at back.
