Bound in publisher's original orange cloth with lettering and decoration in red on front board and spine. Originally published by Hodder and Stoughton and then by Doubleday Crime Club in 1943. Square, tight and clean throughout with minor wear to edges and tips. No page toning. Very attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($2.00 in the middle of the front flap), has a couple chips to edges and a 1" split along the top front hinge. Spine mildly toned. Still fresh and bright. A very pretty collectable copy and impossible to find in any condition, this being the only copy currently in the marketplace. (Hubin, p.384).
