Madame SWETCHINE (1782-1857) a souvent été appelée la "Marquise de Sévigné russe", tant elle a écrit de lettres. Orthodoxe convertie au catholicisme, elle avait créé un salon fréquenté par les plus grands penseurs spiritualistes de son temps. Parmi ses habitués et correspondants elle avait LACORDAIRE, et leurs écrits témoignent de ce que l'on a souvent appelé le "catholicisme social". Notre exemplaire présente deux dicrètes réparations (professionnelles) à l'angle des deux coiffes. Sinon, ETAT TRES SATISFAISANT.

Notons aussi que le lettrage doré des dos manque énormément d'éclat et est difficile à déchiffrer. Les intérieurs sont en très bon état sans rien à signaler d'autre que la présence de quelques cachets de bibliothèque en début de volumes, un léger jaunissement uniforme des pages et quelques très petites déchirures à quelques marges.
