Apart from some stains to fore-edges of pages, not affecting the text, the book has survived relatively well, but the dust-jacket is worn and has a portion of the spine missing.

Prittie was captured in the `hold Calais to the last man' move of 1940, his revolver full of sand. 400 pages of ESCAPE adventures!!
