The present project showcases such an initiative. The main theme of the research and development portrayed through this book is using the state of art technologies for providing a voice based alerts to the visually impaired person in order to guide him/her in a closed room. The system presented in this book resorts to two technologies viz. ZigBee and RFID. Further with a voice based subsystem, audible instructions are imparted which have been preprogrammed in the system. Thus the system presented herein is a high technology initiative to replace the age old walking cage by a wearable walking guide system which is handy and can be put to use without revealing the disability.
