Rückenstichheftung. Foreign Languages Publishing House, Foreign Languages Publishing House, Book, [PU: Foreign Languages Publishing House], Foreign Languages Publishing House, Part of the Soviet Children's Library for Tiny Tots. When they say these stories of Tolstoy are short, they mean SHORT. Maybe 3 sentences. These are all in English, translated by E. Felgenhauer. I'm not sure how good a job she did. I guess Russian children aren't as coddled as Americans. For instance, a child hides in the closet during a storm, and the story says to stay there, because he's a coward. A child confesses to breaking a plate and Dad says he is truthful. Another child broke a teapot at a tea party and scalded herself. A child found a mushroom, but it was wormy. 32 unpaginierte Seiten. Gebrauchsspuren. Sehr schöne Illustrationen. Size: 28 x 22 Cm. 300 Gr.

FYODOR MIKHAILOVICH DOSTOYEVSKY, (1821-1881), was a Russian novelist, short story writer, essayist, journalist and philosopher. Dostoyevsky's literary works explore human psychology in the troubled political, social, and spiritual atmosphere of 19th-century Russia, and engage with a variety of philosophical and religious themes. He began writing in his 20s, and his first novel, Poor Folk, was published in 1846 when he was 25. His major works include Crime and Punishment (1866). The first two parts of Crime and Punishment were published in January and February 1866 in the periodical The Russian Messenger, attracting at least 500 new subscribers to the magazine. Many literary critics rate him as one of the greatest psychologists in world literature.
