Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf 'software multiagent systems', automatisierter Übertragung, agentenbasierter, rechnerbetonten Wirtschaftswissenschaft und allgemeiner EDV. Er studierte Informationssysteme in Kiel und Mannheim (Diplom) und promovierte 2000 in Freiburg. 2001 erhielt er von der Alcatel SEL Stiftung den Preis für die beste deutsche Dissertation in Wirtschaftsinformatik. Zusammen mit der Deutschen Telekom (T Systemen) veröffentlichte er im Jahr 2000 die Studie "Digital Business Agents". Er ist Autor diverser Fach- und Tagungsbeiträge.
