The author examines the credit and financing problems of these florists, using data collected through interviews with 46 retail and 10 wholesale orists. They found that despite informal habits of extending credit and collecting delinquent accounts, the total amount of noncollectable accounts in the cities surveyed was only 2.3 percent of total gross sales. The author also explores the relationship between various aspects of business practices and size of noncollectable accounts, ultimately concluding that adequate financing is certainly available to those with sound operations under good management.
