The box has light grey paper with a marble pattern and black inking. There is very little corner bumping or edge wear on the books themselves. The box corners have slight bumping. This is a two volume set; vol. 1 covers the years 1689 - 1900, vol. 2, 1900 - 1953. The text is very clean and solid. A very nice set. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
