Baptist minister Washington Bryan Crumpton (1842-1926) recounts his antebellum adventures in California and postbellum life in Alabama with an interesting account of his decision to enlist in the Confederate Army, his difficulties in returning to the South, and his service with Company H, 37th Mississippi Infantry mostly encompassed within pages 37 to 103.
