Leather. Zustand: Good Only. None (illustrator). This volume contains three works bound in one volume. Fully bound in calf. Isaac Watts (1674-1748) is recognised as the "Father of English Hymnody", as he was the first prolific and popular English hymn writer, credited with some 750 hymns. Many of his hymns remain in active use today and have been translated into many languages. Thomas Sherlock (1678 -1761) served as a Church of England bishop for 33 years. He is also noted in church history as an important contributor to Christian apologetics. Samuel Smith (1584-1665) preacher and influential writer of sermons. Fully bound in calf. There is some wear to the extremities including some bumping to the corners and some cracking to the leather spine. Internally the pages are generally bright with some occasional spotting, particularly to the plates. The binding is firm with the boards and all internal pages attached, although the front hinge is starting. There is some staining to the frontis and title page. The last page of text and the rear endpaper have been torn out. Good Only. book.
