A dedication copy-of-sorts, Inscribed by Gioia on the title page: "For Don Justice- who edited the poems from Dana Gioia who has re-edited the stories. Dana Gioia. 2002." Laid in is a Typed Note Signed from Gioia to Justice passing the book along. He writes: "I also note with annoyance that Nebraska has removed my dedication to you. My apologies. In my mind at least the book is still yours. And to make that official here is a copy with the dedication reinserted by hand." (*The Ceremony and Other Stories* was published by Nebraska in 1983; this edition contains three more stories.) A lovely association.
