No. 94 of limited edition copies of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the binder's label to the front paste down. Loosely inserted is a reproduction of a photograph of Morley Old Hall and some information regarding it. A limited edition of this collection of fifty prints of intricate sketches of historic buildings in Norfolk, with information on the architecture, history and topography of these buildings, by Edward Preston Willins. Collated complete. Among the buildings included in this volume are Armingham Old Hall, Blickling Hall, Felbrigge Hall and Merton Hall. With a list of subscribers and a preface by Thomas Garratt. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally very smart, with light wear to the joints, extremities and head and tail of the spine. Colour is good and gilt is bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for offsetting to the end papers. Plates are in excellent condition. Very Good Indeed. book.

Number 79 of a limited edition of 500. Japon paper covered boards badly marked and stained. Front end-papers split across hinge. Binding remains secure. Some spotting to the first few pages of prelims, plates generally clean. A little age-discolouration to paper and an aroma of old smoke. Willins' sketches illustrate many now lost views of old Norwich.

This is No 270 of the 500 printed. of this large famous book of 50 pages of line drawing drawn by the Author, of Norwich and it's ecclesiastical & domestic architecture and fittings, and as the Author states decaying and rapidly disappearing, with some lost/destroyed between drawing and the Publication of this Book in 1884.This book is getting rarer all the time as the poor glue used to bind the gilt edged art card paper to binding was not upto the job, and almost every copy has loose pages or rebound/ reglued. Though most now having been (and are even now) broken up as the illustrated pages are so much more valuable ( to the print dealers) than the whole book. This book appears complete with all illustrated pages title pages and subscribers list at rear. Original Blue, Gilt lettering is complete with small tears at very top of spine and minor sign's of lightness (,poss minor water marks) and minor rubbing to corners of this large tome. Contents generally good to very, with very minor foxing on 1st few pages before Illustrated pages, 3 pages with marks/dirt etc. restricted to edge only not affecting illustration , all pages loose but still containing their gilt edges (top, side & base) ***********as this is a large book weighing approx. 4 1/2 Lbs (over 2kilos) extra postage outside UK ,( or can be collected at fairs i do in London Long Melford (the book fair), Norwich etc. if you e-mail me 10 1/2" x 13 3/4" Approx.
