Im April 1941 fand in Berlin eine Konferenz statt, zu der sämtliche Generalstaatsanwälte und Oberlandesgerichtspräsidenten eingeladen waren. Diese wurden in den Krankenmord an Tausenden von Menschen eingeweiht und zur Deckung der reibungslosen Durchführung der »Euthanasie« -Aktion aufgefordert. Keiner der Juristen protestierte gegen das Verbrechen, das auch damaligem Recht offenkundig widersprach. 1965 eröffnete Fritz Bauer, hessischer Generalstaatsanwalt und Initiator des Auschwitz-Prozesses, eine Voruntersuchung gegen zwanzig Beschuldigte. Es waren jene Juristen, die sich nach seiner Auffassung der Beihilfe zum Mord in 71.088 Fällen schuldig gemacht hatten. Nach dem plötzlichen Tod Bauers 1968 wurde das Verfahren eingestellt.
