Young was responsible for the iconic scene in Lawrence of Arabia in which Omar Sharif emerges through a mirage; this film inspired Steven Spielberg to take up film making as a career. Young was a close friend and colleague of Samuelson for many years and this association is borne out by this very personal archive.
