Plates. 292 pages clean and tight. This is the first full-length biography of James Bronterre O'Brien, the Chartist leader and Radical agitator. After many years of research he has produced this extremely important biography, which also gives a vivid and authentic picture of political life in the reigns of William IV and Victoria. It will be invaluable to students of nineteenth-century British social and political history, and should also appeal to all interested in the development of democracy. 'An indispensable biography of one of the most interesting Chartist leaders.' Professor Asa Briggs. Size: 8vo.…
