Hardcover. First edition. Inscribed in the year of publication on the title page in blue ink: "Steve -- It's great seeing you again after all this time. David Mech, 12/5/03." With a foreword by George Rabb. From the jacket: "In Wolves, may of the world's leading experts provide state-of-the-art coverage of just about eveything you could want to know about these fascinating creatures. . Unrivaled in scope and comprehensiveness, Wolves will become the definitive resource on these extraordinary animals for scientists and amateurs alike." L. Among other documentation of the Ellesmere wolves, he co-produced a film about his experience for National Geographic. His co-editor in this book, Luigi Boitani, is a professor of zoology at the Sapienza University of Rome, and president of the Large Carnivore Initiative for Europe. A heavy quarto in black paper boards and black cloth spine. Fine with one small white spot on front board; still fine, with sharp corners. In a fine jacket. A new unread book.…
