It presents an account of Jesus' purported miracles and discusses the various implications for what are considered Christian virtues like humility, chastity and charity. The author seeks to draw parallels between the time of Christ and the moral climate of their day, arguing that contemporary society would do well to emulate the values and beliefs of early Christians. Beyond its explicit religious themes, the book provides a historical account of the life of Jesus and the development of the Christian religion in its early years. The author's detailed descriptions of events and the lives of Jesus' earliest disciples provide insight into the origins of Christianity and the challenges faced by the nascent religion.
