In contrast to the negative, ritualistic, and externally-focused morality of his time, Jesus emphasized positive, practical, and internal virtues. He challenged the Mosaic tradition of laws and prohibitions, advocating instead for a morality based on love, kindness, and forgiveness. The author explores the depth of Jesus' teachings, revealing how they transcended the cultural norms of their time and continue to resonate today. Through an examination of the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount, the book highlights the shift from outward obedience to inward transformation. Jesus placed great value on subjective states of mind, arguing that morality is not merely about actions but also about intentions and motivations. This book provides a comprehensive analysis of the radical nature of Jesus' morality, exploring its implications for personal conduct and societal well-being. It invites readers to reflect on the timeless relevance of Christ's teachings and their transformative power in shaping a more just and compassionate world.
