This book explores the history of the Michigan State Association for the Prevention and Relief of Tuberculosis from its inception in 1911 to its work in 1912. The book also covers its structure, aims, and accomplishments during that period. The author provides a detailed account of the organization's activities, including its efforts to raise awareness about tuberculosis, promote early detection and treatment, and advocate for policies to prevent its spread. The book also highlights the challenges faced by the organization, including limited funding and resistance from some members of the medical community. Through a rich collection of primary sources, including meeting minutes, reports, and correspondence, the book offers a valuable glimpse into the early days of the anti-tuberculosis movement in Michigan and provides insights into the broader history of public health and social welfare in the United States.
