This book introduces a new method of classifying seashells based on their form and structure, organized into three parts and numerous plates presenting different genera and species. The author's focus is on providing easily accessible terminology, organized in a helpful tabular format, to help students and scholars alike to understand the diversity and complexity of seashells. The author draws on the work of previous scientists and naturalists, such as Aristotle, Linnaeus, and other notable figures, in order to provide a comprehensive overview of malacology, the study of mollusks. The author also discusses the significance of seashells as a source of knowledge about the history of the Earth and its climate, the evolution of species, and even the etymology of words related to seashells. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
