Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a comprehensive study of events arising from the dissociation of water vapor, and the presence of dark lines in these spectra. The author demonstrates the importance of studying the behavior of gases under different forms of excitation. They found that spectra arising from the dissociation of water vapor contained dark lines as well as bright lines. These dark lines were due to a selective reversibility of the silver salt employed in the photographic emulsions, and were not due to the reversing action of a cooler layer of gas. The author suggests that the selective reversibility serves to reveal certain lines which escape observation. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. …
